Reselling Pop Mart and Labubu Blind Boxes

How Pop Mart blind boxes and Labubu work, how Pop Mart sells and limits drops, the fake Lafufu problem, how resale prices have swung, and where people sell.

Researched from public information

Labubu turned a blind box that retails for about $27 into a 2025 craze, and Pop Mart drops still draw resellers alongside collectors. This guide explains how Pop Mart's blind boxes and secret figures work, how Pop Mart sells and what its rules say about limits and resale, the counterfeit problem, how prices have moved, and where people sell.

Prices and policies below are from Pop Mart's and the marketplaces' own pages as listed in October 2026. They change, so check before you buy.

Blind boxes, whole sets and secrets#

Pop Mart is a Chinese toy company that sells collectible figures and plush, mostly as blind boxes: sealed boxes where you can't see which design is inside until you open it.

  • A series usually has a handful of regular designs plus one secret, a rarer chase design. Pop Mart's US pages for The Monsters Have a Seat and Big into Energy each show seven designs, one labeled Secret.
  • The odds. Pop Mart's FAQ and product pages say the chance of drawing a secret varies by series. The US pages we read, for two The Monsters and two Skullpanda series, gave no number. Collectors say some series do list specific odds on the box or listing, so check the series you're buying rather than assuming a ratio from another set.
  • A whole set is Pop Mart's name for a pack of non-repeating boxes, six for some series and twelve for others, so you get each regular design once. Whether that includes the secret is still chance.

That's why resale sites such as StockX list sealed boxes, opened boxes and specific characters separately: once a box is open, its price depends on the design inside.

Labubu and The Monsters#

Labubu is a toothy, rabbit-eared character from The Monsters, a line by Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung that first came out in 2015, according to Fox Business. Pop Mart sells it as blind boxes, plush pendants and larger dolls. Its US site lists the Big into Energy, Exciting Macaron and Have a Seat blind boxes at $26.99 each, with other Monsters pieces from about $5 to $300.

How Pop Mart sells, and its rules#

Besides its own website, a Pop Mart representative told Good Morning America the official channels are Pop Mart stores, the Pop Mart app, Robo Shops (Pop Mart's vending machines), its official TikTok Shop, verified retailers such as its official Amazon storefront, and booths at events. Pop Mart's own FAQ says popular items "may sell out quickly within seconds" of a restock. Its app and site also run POP NOW, where you open blind boxes online.

What the rules say:

  • Limits. Pop Mart's US terms let it limit or cancel quantities per person, household or order, including orders that share an account, card or address. In practice, limits are set item by item and drop by drop, so there's no single number to plan around; read the product page on the day.
  • Resale. The same terms let Pop Mart limit or block orders that appear to be placed by dealers or resellers.
  • Bots. The terms ban crawling or scraping the site and getting around its security features. Pop Mart's FAQ mentions an "Unusual account activity detected" warning, and Rolling Stone India reported that the app may treat some fast tapping as bot activity and temporarily ban users.
  • Multiple accounts. The terms don't ban them outright, but limits can be applied across a shared card or address, and giving false information is prohibited. Using extra accounts to get around limits risks cancelled orders and closed accounts.
  • Returns. Opened online boxes count as "consumed," and physical blind boxes can't be returned because you don't like the design. Defects must be reported within 15 days.

Demand and price swings#

Labubu prices have moved fast in both directions. In 2025, drops sold out in seconds and Pop Mart paused Labubu sales in its UK stores for safety reasons after reported fights, according to Fox Business. Then supply caught up:

  • By October 2025, Forbes found Labubus in stock at Target and through Walmart's restocks on StockX from $39, and none of the 60 priciest eBay listings had bids.
  • In December 2025, Yicai reported resale drops of up to 88% on some items on Poizon, a Chinese resale platform. One Big Into Energy secret fell from about $645 in June to about $77, while a regular box still averaged a little above retail.
  • In October 2026, StockX's Labubu page has a Below Retail filter.

The lesson isn't that prices will go up or down next; it's that a hyped figure can fall below what you paid for it. Check recent sold prices, not asking prices, before buying in quantity.

The counterfeit problem: Lafufu#

Fakes are common enough to have a nickname, "Lafufu." On August 26, 2025, CBP officers in Seattle seized about 11,134 counterfeit Labubus valued at about $514,000. The CPSC warns that fakes can be a choking hazard for young children.

General signs, from the CPSC and Good Morning America's report with Pop Mart:

  • Authentication marks. A holographic Pop Mart sticker and QR code; a UV stamp on one foot on newer editions. Pop Mart lets you enter the number on the holographic label on its official verification site.
  • The figure. Nine teeth, clean paint, even stitching, correctly spelled tags.
  • The box. Fakes are sometimes resealed inside real boxes, so packaging alone doesn't prove anything.

Our own rule of thumb: a steep discount on a hyped figure from an unofficial seller is a reason to look harder.

Our guide to spotting fake and resealed products covers resealing checks that apply to sealed blind boxes too.

Where to sell, and the fees#

  • StockX lists Pop Mart single boxes, sealed cases, whole sets and opened boxes, and verifies them. Its Pop Mart condition rules say blind boxes must be sold sealed, a specific character needs its box, bag, plush and card, and minor box damage is fine. StockX also won't swap a duplicate from a case for a missing design.
  • eBay has no separate rate for designer toys, so most sales fall under its general 13.6% of the total plus $0.30 or $0.40 per order.

Our comparison of StockX, GOAT and eBay fees works through what each takes, and where to sell streetwear covers other platforms.

Bots, monitors and cook groups for Pop Mart#

Tools built for sneakers have followed Labubu, but they aren't all the same thing. It helps to separate three kinds:

  • Monitors and alerts. These watch Pop Mart's site and app and ping you when something restocks. Whop lists Labubu restock monitors tied to Discord communities, some free. This is the most common kind of Pop Mart coverage.
  • Manual checkout help. Collectible-focused cook groups often post release calendars, product links and tips, but you still check out yourself.
  • Bots and ACO. Some bots and auto-checkout services say they support Pop Mart. Fox Business reported allegations that reseller bots sweep the site and app for new drops. Support and reliability vary widely, and a sneaker bot doesn't automatically cover Pop Mart.

Before you pay for any of them, remember that Pop Mart's terms ban automated access and let it cancel orders and limit accounts, and the anti-bot checks described above can block you. Our guides to how monitors work, cook groups and whether a bot is worth it explain what you'd be paying for.

Frequently asked questions

What is a secret Labubu?

A secret is a rare chase design hidden in a blind box series alongside the regular designs. Pop Mart's product pages usually label one design as the secret and say the chance of drawing one varies from set to set. Because you can't see what's inside a sealed box, a secret is luck of the draw.

Is a Pop Mart whole set the same as a sealed case?

Pop Mart describes a whole set as a pack of non-repeating blind boxes (six or twelve, depending on the series). StockX sells sealed cases too, and says it won't swap a duplicate from a case for a missing design. Check what a listing actually promises before you pay a premium.

How can I tell if a Labubu is fake?

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission says real Pop Mart Labubus have a holographic Pop Mart sticker and a scannable QR code, newer ones have a UV stamp on one foot, and they have nine teeth. Also watch for sloppy paint, misspelled tags, resealed boxes and prices that look too good. Pop Mart lets you check the number on the holographic label on its official verification site.

Are Labubus still worth reselling?

Nobody can promise that. Resale prices rose sharply in 2025 and then fell as supply grew: one Chinese resale platform showed drops of up to 88% on some items by December 2025, and StockX's Labubu page now has a below-retail filter. Treat any purchase as a risk and check current sold prices first.
