Pokémon Center ETB vs Regular ETB: Packs, Promos and Price

How a Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box differs from the regular one: 11 packs instead of 9, a second promo with the Pokémon Center stamp, the price and resale.

Researched from public information

A Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box (ETB) is a version of the standard ETB sold only on Pokémon Center, The Pokémon Company's own store. Recent ones have 11 booster packs instead of 9, plus a second copy of the promo card stamped with the Pokémon Center logo. This guide explains what's inside each version, what they cost, why the Pokémon Center box resells for more, and how to buy one.

What's in a regular ETB#

An Elite Trainer Box is a premium sealed product built for players. In the current Mega Evolution era, a regular ETB contains:

  • 9 booster packs;
  • 1 full-art promo card;
  • 65 card sleeves and 40 Energy cards;
  • damage-counter dice, a coin-flip die and a coin;
  • a storage box with 6 dividers;
  • a player's guide and a code for Pokémon TCG Live.

The US price for regular ETBs has been $49.99. Contents shift a little between eras: Mega Evolution ETBs dropped from 45 Energy cards to 40 and went from 4 dividers to 6.

What the Pokémon Center version adds#

The Pokémon Center ETB uses the same set and the same box art, with two differences:

  • Two extra packs: 11 instead of 9.
  • A stamped promo: two copies of the set's full-art promo, one regular and one printed with the Pokémon Center logo.

Here's how that played out for recent sets:

SetRegular ETBPokémon Center ETB
Prismatic Evolutions (2025)9 packs, 1 Eevee promo11 packs, 2 Eevee promos (1 stamped)
Mega Evolution (2025)9 packs, 1 promo11 packs, 2 promos (1 stamped)
Phantasmal Flames (2025)9 packs, 1 Charcadet promo11 packs, 2 Charcadet promos (1 stamped)
30th Celebration (2026)9 packs, 1 promo11 packs, 2 Nidorina promos (1 stamped)

The Pokémon Center version costs $59.99 on pokemoncenter.com, $10 more than the regular box; it was the same price when Prismatic Evolutions launched. Per pack, that's about $5.45 against $5.55, before counting the extra promo.

A short history#

Pokémon Center ETBs started with Chilling Reign in 2021, when the exclusive box cost $49.99 against $39.99 for the regular one. The second, stamped promo became standard in the Scarlet & Violet era. You may also see the "Elite Trainer Box Plus" from the Sword & Shield era mentioned: it had extra packs too, but it wasn't sold in North America.

Why they resell for more#

Three things push the Pokémon Center version above the regular one on the secondary market:

  1. One place to buy it. It's sold only on Pokémon Center, not at Target, Walmart or game stores.
  2. Two more packs in every box.
  3. The stamped promo, which collectors treat as its own card.

For Phantasmal Flames, PriceCharting showed the Pokémon Center ETB at $280 against $152 for the regular box on October 10, 2026, about 1.8 times as much. That gap isn't fixed. It depends on the set's popularity, how much product is printed, and whether Pokémon reprints it. Our guide to reselling Pokémon cards explains how to read prices like these before you buy.

Stamped promos#

A stamp is a small logo printed on a card to mark where it came from. On a Pokémon Center ETB promo, it's the Pokémon Center logo. Other products carry other stamps, so don't assume every stamped card is a Pokémon Center exclusive: some booster display boxes and prerelease products come with their own stamped promos. When you're buying a single stamped promo, check which product it came from and compare it with photos of that product.

Collectors often keep Pokémon Center ETBs sealed, and the stamped promo is a big part of why sealed boxes have tended to sell above the regular version over time. That isn't guaranteed for every set. If you only want the promo, compare the single card's sold price with the price of a sealed box.

How to buy one#

New Pokémon Center ETBs are sold only on pokemoncenter.com, and popular sets sell out fast. A few rules from Pokémon Center's help center are worth knowing:

  • There's a virtual queue for busy drops. Pokémon Center says extra tabs, other links or workarounds won't get you through faster, and waiting doesn't guarantee there will be stock.
  • Purchase limits are shown on each product page.
  • You can't cancel an order once it's placed. Preorders can be cancelled only before they're processed for shipping.
  • Preorders are charged later. Pokémon Center doesn't charge you when you place a preorder. It charges your card when the order is packed and shipped, closer to the release date, so make sure the card and the money are still there then.

Bots are a big part of why drops are hard. Some try to work around the queue, and the flood of automated traffic can cause errors and slowdowns that make it hard for people buying by hand.

Pokémon Center also cancels orders it decides break its rules. In September 2026 it cancelled many 30th Celebration orders in what was reported as a crackdown on bots, and Kotaku reported that some buyers who said they didn't use bots lost orders too. Some bots list Pokémon Center among the stores they support. Using one risks cancelled orders and closed accounts; our guide to how bots work explains those risks.

Buying one secondhand#

If you buy from a reseller, you're paying for a sealed box you can't see inside. Before you pay:

  • compare the box with official photos of the Pokémon Center version, since the regular and exclusive boxes look alike;
  • check the shrink wrap for signs it's been opened and resealed;
  • use a marketplace with buyer protection, and know its claim deadline.

Our guide to spotting fake and resealed products covers each check.

Because Pokémon Center charges preorders when they ship, read our guide to preselling before listing one you haven't received.

Tracking Pokémon Center drops#

Pokémon cook groups post alerts when Pokémon Center and other stores restock. On OOSClub, the Pokémon & TCG niche lists cook groups and tools for Pokémon, with what each says it covers and what it costs. Our guide to sealed TCG products explains the other box types you'll see in those alerts.

Frequently asked questions

How many packs are in a Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box?

Recent Pokémon Center ETBs have 11 booster packs, two more than the 9 in the regular ETB. Recent ones also include two copies of the full-art promo card, one of them stamped with the Pokémon Center logo.

Where can I buy a Pokémon Center ETB?

New, only from Pokémon Center, The Pokémon Company's official online store. Anywhere else, you're buying from a reseller, usually above the original price.

What is a Pokémon Center stamped promo?

It's the same promo card that comes in the regular ETB, printed with a small Pokémon Center logo. Because it only comes in the Pokémon Center version, collectors treat it as a separate card.

Is a Pokémon Center ETB worth more than a regular one?

It usually resells for more because it has two extra packs and the stamped promo, and it's only sold in one place. For Phantasmal Flames, PriceCharting showed it at about 1.8 times the regular ETB in October 2026. Prices change, and reprints can lower them.
