Buying on Whop: Memberships, Refunds and Scams

How buying on Whop works: checkout, Discord access, free trials, cancelling, refunds, the 120-day Resolution Center, chargebacks, and how to check a seller.

Researched from public information

Whop is where many bots, cook groups, picks groups and trading tools are sold. You pay on Whop, and the seller delivers access: a Discord role, a license key or a download. This guide explains how buying works, how trials, cancellations and refunds work, what to do when something goes wrong, and how to check a seller first.

Disclosure: OOSClub is a Whop affiliate. Some Whop links on OOSClub include our affiliate code (?a=oosclub), and we may earn a commission when you buy. It never changes which products we list or how we order them, and this guide is written from Whop's own help pages.

Who you're buying from#

On Whop, the seller is the one selling you the product. Whop's Buyer Terms say Whop processes the payment as merchant of record, while the seller named at checkout supplies the product, and the seller's refund policy applies. Whop's Terms of Service add that it isn't responsible for product quality.

In practice: Whop gives you a payment record, a refund request process and a dispute process, but it doesn't guarantee the product is good. Check the seller.

How buying works#

  1. Pay at checkout. Whop accepts cards, PayPal, crypto and regional methods, depending on your country. The charge shows on your statement as WHOP.COM.
  2. Find your purchase in the sidebar or under Profile, then Orders. If it's missing, you're probably logged in with a different email from the one you bought with.
  3. Claim access:
    • Discord: connect your Discord account, authorize the Whop bot, open the Discord app in your purchase and click Claim Access.
    • Software: your license key and download are in your orders, where you can also reset the key.

Free trials#

Free trials on Whop apply to recurring plans, and they charge the full price automatically when they end. To avoid being charged, cancel before the trial ends. Whop says it charges full price to anyone it detects trying to take a second trial. Set a reminder the day you start a trial.

Cancelling#

Go to Profile, then Orders, choose the subscription and cancel the membership (or use Manage Orders in the app). You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, and Whop emails a confirmation. Cancelling isn't a refund: it only stops future charges.

Refunds#

Many bots and groups say "no refunds," so read the seller's policy before you pay. Our guide to refund policies explains what's typical. To ask for one:

  1. Go to Orders, then Billing history.
  2. Open the menu on the payment and choose Request Refund.
  3. Explain why, with evidence.

Whop says refunds aren't guaranteed and that you'll get a decision within a week at most. EU, EEA and UK buyers have a legal right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days.

When the seller won't help: the Resolution Center#

If a seller ignores you or refuses a fair claim, Whop's Resolution Center is the next step:

  • Deadline: one case per payment, within 120 days of that payment.
  • Evidence: you can attach up to 5 files, such as screenshots and messages.
  • If the seller doesn't respond within 7 days, Whop decides the case. Either side can appeal once.
  • Outcome: if you win, Whop either refunds you or adds credit to your Whop Balance, so a win isn't always cash.
  • Crypto payments made through Coinbase Commerce can't go to the Resolution Center; Whop treats them as non-refundable.

Chargebacks: the last resort#

You can dispute a charge with your bank, but Whop recommends trying its own process first, and it suspends your Whop account while a bank dispute is open. While your account is suspended you can't use it, and Whop's Buyer Terms say that if an account is terminated, you lose access to your purchases without a refund. Use a chargeback only after the refund request and the Resolution Center have failed.

How to check a seller before you buy#

  • Read the reviews critically. Whop's guidelines ban fake reviews and require reviewers to disclose ties to the seller, but reviews can still be gamed. Look for detailed, recent reviews and how the seller answers complaints.
  • Treat "Verified" as a plus, not a guarantee. Whop describes its Verified badge as recognition of top sellers after vetting, but it doesn't publish the criteria, and the badge isn't a buyer protection.
  • Check the seller's own site and socials against what's linked from the Whop page.
  • Be wary of earnings claims. Whop requires them to be truthful and backed up; "guaranteed profit" pitches are a red flag.
  • Pay only through Whop's checkout, never through DMs, Zelle, Cash App or crypto sent to a person. Off-platform payments lose Whop's refund and dispute process entirely.

If something looks wrong, use Report this company at the bottom of the seller's store page. Our guide to bot and cook group scams covers more warning signs.

What Whop doesn't allow#

Whop bans some products outright, including betting operations, prop firms, unregistered investment products, account sales, tickets bought with bots, and counterfeits. A seller offering any of these on Whop, or steering you off Whop to buy them, is a red flag.

Whop's rules also ban selling retail accounts; our guide to buying retail accounts explains the risks of buying them anywhere.

Buying on OOSClub#

OOSClub listings link to each product's Whop page or the seller's own checkout, with the plans, refund policy and the date we last checked them. Our guides to cook groups and bot licenses and renewals explain what you're paying for.

Frequently asked questions

Is Whop legit?

Whop is a real marketplace and payment platform used by many sellers of bots, cook groups, courses and software. Whop processes the payment, but each product comes from its seller, so whether a purchase is worth it depends on the seller, not on Whop.

How do I get a refund on Whop?

Request one from your billing history, under Orders. Refunds aren't guaranteed and depend on the seller's refund policy. If the seller doesn't help, you can open a Resolution Center case within 120 days of the payment.

How do I cancel a Whop subscription?

Go to your profile, open Orders, pick the subscription and cancel the membership. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Cancelling stops future charges but doesn't refund the current period.

What happens if I file a chargeback?

Whop suspends your Whop account until your bank decides the dispute, and you can lose access to your purchases. Whop asks buyers to use its refund and Resolution Center process first.
